Moderne Makes the Final 5 for the First Annual Classy Awards in San Diego

Stay Classy Productions is sponsoring the first annual CLASSY AWARDS on November 14, 2009.

The Classy Awards will honor local businesses and individuals who are making a difference in the community.

We are thrilled to announce that Moderne's owner, Janet Hamada has been chosen as a final nominee for the First Annual Classy Awards in San Diego. Janet is a finalist in the BEST INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING EFFORT category.

Janet Hamada incorporates philanthropy into all aspects of her local fashion business, Moderne. This selfless business woman has rallied groups of people to drive contributions to various nonprofits, large and small, including Habitat for Humanity, Visions for the Future, South Bay Community Services, and many more. Her latest endeavor was producing a series of fashion-inspired fundraising events where dozens of vendors came out to display their products to interested consumers. A portion of each sale would be donated to a local non-profit. Janet was recently recognized for her infusion of business & giving in OC's Metro magazine "HOT 25" list. Even in a down economy, when many small businesses are forced to look inward, Janet has never strayed from her original idea of "giving back" into everything she does.

We are also thrilled to announce that Ronda's Dream Center - a non profit project in OC has made the list for MOST INNOVATIVE USE OF TECHNOLOGY. Moderne has been working with RDC since the beginning and we are thrilled that they are getting the recognition they deserve.

Ronda’s Dream Center has set out to enrich and improve the quality of life of the developmentally disabled community through a visual therapy center that provides a creative and stimulating visual environment for the developmentally disabled residents at Fairview Developmental Center.
Their project utilizes cutting edge technology to provide a revolutionary visual therapy center for Fairview patients. Ronda's Dream Center will consist of 2 rooms: The “Create” room revolves around a revolutionary interactive projector system that responds to human movement. Individuals will be able to simulate actions and behaviors that they would otherwise not be able to experience - due to environmental, medical and behavioral restrictions. With the use of interactive projectors, individuals are able to work on their cognitive and emotional functioning.

  1. Hi,
I really like that you posted about the Hamada and Ronda's Dream Center. It shows that you care about promoting philanthropy into your local fashion business. It made me think that as someone prominent in the female blog world, you might be interested in encouraging your female readers on a new take on giving this holiday season- called Philanthropedia! http://myphilanthropedia.org.
