First Look at Moderne’s New Line: FLuXus

FLuXuS, from a Latin etymological root meaning flow, describes a movement with origins in futurist performance that blurs the lines between all artistic genres. Influenced by the work of John Cage and Marcel Duchamp, the Fluxus group, which includes Yoko Ono, Beck and Ben, shifted the emphasis from what an artist makes to the artist’s personality, actions and opinions. Blending and connecting all aspects of art and life, intermingling different philosophies and cultures This is what FLuXuS represents. There is life, there is art and in between is fashion.

Fringe Scarf in Heather Grey. Perfect fall piece to accent any outfit.

It is no wonder that Project Runway season three winner, Jeffrey Sebelia, is the head designer of this amazing line. In 2003, before he was announced the winner of the Emrmy-nominated Bravo series, Sebelia created his own label, Cosa Nostra, for which he was honored as a GENart New Guard Designer in 2004. Since then, Sebelia has taken FLuXus from a t-shirt line to an entire collection! Jeffery’s signature rock’n’ roll edgy aesthetic combined with FLuXus’ art-driven philosophy, has redefined traditional fabrics & silhouettes. “Jeffrey’s vision is both versatile and unique, putting a twist on the classics to give them a cool update while maintaining the everyday functionality Fluxus is known for,” says Fashion News.
