The need for aid in Pakistan is rapidly growing – more than 20 million people have been affected by the severe flooding -- a number greater than the total affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 northern Pakistan earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake, COMBINED. The flooding, which began July 27, has killed an estimated 1,600 people, damaged or destroyed more than 1.2 million households and left 800,000 people reachable only by air. The disaster is only growing with more rains on the way and increasing risk of water-borne disease and dehydration.

As if one devastating earthquake wasn't enough... Haiti was hit with another aftershock this morning.... a 6.1 magnitude aftershock. That's not an aftershock -- that's an earthquake.
For those of you who have not seen the footage...think of the worst possible conditions. The death toll is over 72,000 people and rising... Food, water, medicine and medical supplies are not getting to the people of Haiti as quickly as it should be.. Those who survived the earthquake are still at very high risk ... Injured victims are not being treated.
It's bad. There is no way of getting around the fact that this is a global ordeal. While it's common and somewhat expected of celebrities, business gurus and political figures to donate to such a dire situation... it's time for all of us to do our part.
Most Haitians live on less than $2 per day.... $2 per day! Count the change in your purse, wallet, pocket and chances are you have $2 in there. Don't buy your morning coffee at the gourmet coffee shop and you will save enough to support a Haitian for a day.
